You’re Invited: Parent Engagement Event with Dr. Ethan Kross – Dec. 2

We invite you to join the Parent Engagement Committee on Tuesday, December 2nd, from 6:30–8:00 PM in the WIS Media Center for a special live virtual event featuring Dr. Ethan Kross in conversation with Dr. Jamil Zaki on the topic:

“Shift: Managing Your Emotions So They Don’t Manage You.”

From  6:30–7:00 PM, we’ll enjoy snacks and time to connect.
From 7:00–8:00 PM, we will watch the presentation together.

👉 Please RSVP here.

This engaging session will explore practical tools for mastering emotional decision-making and fostering a happier, healthier, and more productive life. Dr. Kross will clarify common myths about emotions and share research-based strategies to help us—and our children—navigate difficult feelings such as anxiety, anger, and disappointment. He explains how emotions aren’t “good” or “bad,” but can serve as a superpower that guides us through challenges.

Dr. Kross is a two-time national bestselling author (Shift and Chatter) and a professor at the University of Michigan, where he directs the Emotion and Self-Control Laboratory. His work has been featured in major publications including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The New England Journal of Medicine, and Science.

He will be joined by Dr. Jamil Zaki, a Stanford psychology professor, director of the Stanford Social Neuroscience Lab, and bestselling author of The War for Kindness and Hope for Cynics.

We hope you’ll join us for this informative and inspiring evening.
