Westchester Public Schools provide accelerated instructional programs which modify, extend, and enrich the standard educational program in the fundamental learning areas of reading, language arts, and mathematics at grades 5-8. Programs are provided in science and social science at grades 6-8 for students who excel or show potential to be consistently superior in those areas also. Students are identified annually. Ability and achievement tests, school performance, and teacher recommendation serve as identification criteria.
