The goal of the Future Friends Project is to sharpen the writing skills of the children as well as to ease the transition to WIS by having a "big brother" or "big sister" at their new school.

The second graders at Westchester Primary School sent invitations to the fourth graders at Westchester Intermediate School. See the sample above.

The fourth graders also sent invitations to the second graders. See the sample below.

Excitement ran high as the second graders met their partners for the first time. The second and fourth grade students played a specially designed Bingo game during their visit. The students filled in the blank spaces with topics of interest to them. Ideas included homework, recess, lunch rules, computer club, etc. Below is a sample.

The fourth graders were very gracious in answering the second graders' questions about WIS. The day was a memorable one for all those who participated.
